Santa Cruz adverts ran on the back of R.a.D magazine for most of its life, but this one, featuring Rob Roskopp montaged onto a picture of some surgery, was hidden away on page 10. That would almost certainly have been because of a fuss over another Slimeballs advert for Vomit or Spewage wheels which showed someone appearing to throw up. Complaints were made to the Advertising Standards Authority, or maybe the magazine distributors, on the grounds of “bad taste”. I’m still astonished that anyone could really have been so upset by something so tame, but somebody was and so the wheels were set in motion. I suspect moving this advert to the inside of the magazine would have been the only practical outcome.

I loved the gory Santa Cruz ads! Someone’s always offended about something. Vomit ads ruled!

Yeah I too loved the ads of Santa Cruz Slimeballs, in particular the Vomits: very colorfull – extreme – dirty and gory – the antiad sounds perfect for me! (I kind of remember one with Rob Roskopp vomiting/spitting in a plate where his favourite wheels were) ..
Those ads were designed by the same “vulcanic” creative mind that during the 80′s invented and designed the full Santa Cruz visual line of boards graphics and logos .. screaming hand as well
Does anybody have other/any example of those ads to scann please?
