Skaterags, Essjays, Rampage, Backyard and Cromer Adverts

Skaterags, Essjays, Rampage, Backyard and Cromer AdvertsSome fine shops were advertising here and some prosper to this day. Double page spreads of adverts were rare back in 1989, even at the height of that boom, but these days they’re commonplace. Funny to think of Essjay calling himself “old” in 1989. What does that make him (us) now?

  1. Essjay? Old? Yeah and so are the rest of us. 🙂 actually I remember Essjay and the other guys of that era (Jock P, Ben Liddel and so on) all being a fair bit older than me. I started in 1975 and still skate. I’m 41 now. 😉 Essjay’s still going strong with what must be the oldest skateshop in the Westcountry now, caught up with him there the other day. He’s got a great museum section too. Go check it out if you are in the area. Visit some of the rad new concrete parks we have down here too.
