Ninja Scootech Advert

Ninja Scootech Advert 1987The Ninja Scootech was the definitive British scooter from this period. My recollection was that they were really responsible for it all… Ninja Nicholls makes his appearance here alongside his fellow team riders of the time. 1. I know what you mean. I wince when I look back through this issue and see how much space they took up, even though in this case it’s an advert over which we had no control.
In the case of some of the BMX advertisers I suspect they felt less threatened by the scooters than the skateboards.

  2. Gotta love Slade’s Jimmy’Z shorts, and his home-grown PPLA t-shirt. I remember seeing LAB coats advertised in M-Zone, and thinking they were like a school lab-coat. This impression was solidified when I saw Dave Slade in an issue wearing what looked very like a school lab-coat…

  3. Life’s A Beach was certainly the brand which defined that time. There’s a David Slade article about a BMX street jam coming up in few days time, by the way.

  4. I’ve got a couple of issues of Damage floating around the spare room somewhere, and one still has the plastic hospital identity thing that came with it. Always wanted a PPLA shirt but never got round to getting one.
Good old Dave Slade, such a nice chap
